Playa Lake Restoration and Conservation Program

Are you looking for assistance with playa lake restoration?  The Texas Playa Conservation Initiative has technical and financial assistance for landowners.  A healthy playa lake contributes significantly more aquifer recharge than others that are affected by sedimentation or pits.  Check your local area using this estimator from Playa Lakes Joint Venture.  This tool was developed using grant funds from HPWD and others.

Research and Demonstration Grant Applications for 2024

Are you seeking funding for a water conservation research, demonstration, or education project? The High Plains Underground Water Conservation District (HPWD) is now accepting requests for proposals. HPWD is looking for innovative ideas that will help conserve water.

Proposals are due no later than Monday, February 5, 2024, by 5:00 p.m.

Proposals received by the deadline will be reviewed by the HPWD Research/Demonstration Committee, which shall make recommendations to the Board.  Applicants are to be notified by the end of March concerning the decision of the Board.
