2025 Research & Demonstration Grants Approved
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 14, 2025

At the April 8th HPWD regular board meeting, $285,661.74 was awarded for water-related research, demonstration, and education projects. Ten proposals were submitted for 2025. Each project was evaluated by an eight-member committee that included three HPWD Board members, two County Advisory Committee members, two members of the general public, and the HPWD General Manager.

Created in 1951 by residents and the Texas Legislature, the High Plains Water District works to conserve, preserve, protect, and prevent waste of underground water in aquifers within its 16-county service area. HPWD is the first groundwater conservation district created in Texas.
